Information we use

When you enquire or reserve, we use the contact details you provide, your message, stay dates, guest count, chosen apartment, booking reference, payment status and correspondence needed to arrange your stay. The website and hosting provider also process technical information such as IP addresses and security logs. Do not send card security codes, passwords or unnecessary sensitive information through the contact form.

Why we use it

We use enquiry and booking information to answer requests, take steps towards a booking, perform the accommodation contract and provide guest assistance. We process records required for tax, accounting and other legal obligations. We use proportionate technical logs for our legitimate interests in keeping the website secure, preventing abuse and handling disputes. Where consent is required for an optional activity, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Who receives it?

Information may be processed by authorised staff and service providers needed for website hosting, email delivery, booking administration, payment processing, accounting and technical support. The website uses Hostinger hosting and WordPress booking tools. PayPal processes payments when you select it at checkout. Google Maps is used for the location map. These providers may receive technical information when their services load or when you use them and have their own privacy information.

We may disclose information to public authorities when legally required. We do not sell your personal information. Where a provider transfers personal data outside the European Economic Area, applicable transfer safeguards must be used.

How long is it kept?

We keep enquiries only as long as needed to answer them and manage relevant follow-up. Booking, payment and accounting records are retained for the periods required by applicable law and, where necessary, to handle claims. Technical logs are kept for the period needed for security and troubleshooting. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent for consent-based processing. Email mykonosheritage@gmail.com to exercise a right; we may need to verify your identity before sharing information. You may complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority at dpa.gr.

Cookies and external services

WordPress and the booking system use cookies or similar storage needed for functions such as sessions, selected accommodation and security. Embedded Google Maps and external payment services may use their own cookies and collect technical information. Your browser can manage or block cookies; blocking necessary cookies may affect booking functions. Opening an external website is subject to that provider’s privacy policy.

We may update this notice when our services or processing change. Last updated: 10 October 2026.
